To register for an account, simply click the "Register" link, which appears at the top right-hand side of your screen. Once you have read the "PosterLovers Rules & Policies", click the "Agree" button at the bottom of the page. This will take you to the registration page where you will enter your email address, choose your username and password, and you can enter optional information about yourself. After you have entered the required information, click the "Submit Registration Form" at the bottom of the page. At this point, your account is active and you can begin uploading photos, sending e-cards, posting comments, etc.
When you are ready to upload your photos and/or images, you must first login, then click the "Upload Photos" link in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. This will take you to the Upload Photos Form.
Choose a category - select the most appropriate place for your photo using the drop down list of available categories.
Photo to upload - using the Browse button, select the file on your system you wish to upload.
Disk space remaining for your account - This tells you how much disk space you have left for uploads.
You may also give your photos/images a default title and description. This will assign the same title and description to every photo you are uploading. You may want to use this if you only have one image to upload, or if you want to assign the same title and/or description to all the images.
When you have finished entering this information, click the "Upload/Submit" button at the bottom of the [age.
On the next page
you will be prompted to enter the following information for each image you uploaded:
Enter a title for each photo - This is a short description of the photo.
Keywords - enter up to 10 descriptive terms people can use to search for your image.
Photo Description - This area provides for a more detailed description of the photo.
Do you want to be notified by email when users post replies? - Check this box if you would like an email whenever someone posts a comment to your photo.
image types include: JPG, GIF and PNG.
Support multimedia type (if enabled): MPG, AVI, ASF, WMF, MOV
If you would like to create albums to help you organize and share your photos, just login to your account and click on the "My Albums" link in the upper left corner of the page, then click the "Create A New Album" link. Then enter the album name and a description of the album. You can also make the album private if you would like.
Private albums can only be viewed by you and those you allow to access them. You can invite friends and family to view your album by either e-mailing them the link that appears under the album name on the "My Albums" page, or you can send them an e-mail using the "E-mail Gallery Link to Friend" box which appears at the bottom of the page when you are viewing the album.
Once you have created an album, you can edit it by clicking the "Edit" link on the "My Albums" page. Here, you can change the name or description of the album, change the frames or theme for the album, change the sort order, and determine whether the album is private or not. You can also make the album a sub-album of another album by changing the "Album Parent". This is great if, for example, you want to make an album for your pets and then make one sub-album for your dogs and another for your cats. All you would do is create the album "Pets", then create the album "Dogs" and the album "Cats". Then you would edit the Dogs album and the Cats album and change the "Album Parent" to Pets.
To send e-cards, you have to be a member and be logged into your account. There is a section in the gallery dedicated to e-cards, but any image in the gallery can be sent as an e-card. Just click on the image you want to send, then click on the "Send as e-Card" link below the image. This will take you to a form where you will enter the recipient's info, the subject of the e-mail, and a message. You can also change the background color, border color, where you want the message to display, and the text font and color.
You can preview the card the card before you send it. You can also choose to have a notice sent to you (via e-mail) when the card is read. When you are ready to send the card, just click the "Send the e-Card" button at the bottom of the page. Be sure that the "Check here to preview before sending" box is not checked when you are ready to send the e-card.
If you would like to use an image in the gallery as your desktop wallpaper, click on the thumbnail image to view the larger image, then right-click on the larger image and click "Set as Background" on the shortcut menu. Many of the images are already sized to fit your desktop, however some of the smaller images may appear distorted when set as background. If you would like to used these images anyway, you can change the setting for your desktop by right-clicking on your desktop, clicking "Properties" on the shortcut menu, then clicking "Desktop" at the top of the "Display Properties" box that appears. You should see a box with the word "Position" above it. Change the setting in that box to "Center". This will center the image on your desktop; the image will go back to its original size and will not cover your entire desktop.
